“With banks, it is? used to finance new projects which create more jobs”
      - and it’s used to finance War.

If a Bank is the key to a prosperous country then why haven’t we got a bank for the people? So every penny paid in by the people goes straight back TO THE PEOPLE

    3. @UnDe4dB4stard Yes I’ve heard of it, though I haven’t done any research into it.

    4. @WHO15JOHNGALT have you heard about the birth certificate scandal?

    5. @69salford69 When you put your money under a mattress, it stays there and does nothing for the economy. With banks, it is used to finance new projects which create more jobs. This effects multiples through the economy and is the facilitator of the massive economies and comfort we live in today. Without it, we would all still be very much in the dark.

In the times when most people left their money under a matress, they also believed that a cat’s tail could cure the plague. Go figure.

    7. robin hood tax – not a good idea.

some constructive criticism: a tax of this kind does not change the fact that money is created out of debt; that people are coerced into using it as a medium of exchange even though it is not a store of value. the fiat currency can still be arbitrarily expanded by the bankers’ fractional reserve system.

this robin hood tax idea is a band-aid on a system that has cancer… it doesn’t address the root issues.

    8. @THCmuzicalmasta

To be honest, a bank controlled by all of us could make so much money we could have our own education and health care system for members of the bank.

Its the most radical way we could revolt. Our own bank.

    9. CANNOT FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE…IT HAS CHANGED BEFORE US AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO CHANGE AFTER US…..AND IF U WANT TO TAKE SOME MONEY FROM THE BANKS THAT IS JUST AS MUCH THEFT AS THEY DO? TO US……..NO ROBIN HOOD TAX !

    10. @69salford69

who would pay the wages of the people that worked at said bank ? and the over heads? nothing is for free in this world …. if you dont like the bank having youre money withdraw as much as possible on the same day its paid in ! simple really !!

    11. @Nintendomanwill

LOL banks do not print money ! LOOOOL its the royal mint

    12. @69salford69

why not simply withdraw youre wages in full once paid ? leaving a mere 1 pound in the account to keep it open !

    13. This is a well-done, completely dishonest propaganda piece. The tax is touted as tiny, while the revenue from it is touted as huge. But of course the tax and its revenue are exactly the same thing. A 50-100 billion pound tax is not trivial, it is huge, and it would be sucked out of developed economies to prop up the Mugabes and Castros who have destroyed their own economies, as well as the Al Gores who are enriching themselves on the ‘climate change’ fear-mongering.

    14. My only problem with this idea is the fact the “tax” would be passed on the the consumers as “fee increases”. $3.50 to use an ATM to get my money?? Would it jump to $5.00 or $10.00 to off set the “loses” in “tax” on banking transactions.

    15. To hell with em. They belong in the conflagration.

    16. @RicoRichmond I paid taxes which pay for what the government does. It’s how government works, we pay taxes so they can do things. Therefore I am forced to give banks free money.

“Your not forced -? if you don’t want to deal with banks don’t deal with them.”

    17. @e105b5 You don’t get a refund for the hundreds of billions in bailouts, or anything else the government does. What’s your point?

    18. tax the banks, then eliminate the federal reserve, then eliminate interest, then eliminate fiat currency and finally, eliminate money. Resource Based Economy FTW!

    19. @RicoRichmond Awesome, where do I get my refund for the hundreds of billions in bailouts?

    20. @69salford69 Your not forced – if you don’t want to deal with banks don’t deal with them.

    21. I like Bill Nighy he was fatastic in State of Play.

    22. “Help save lives in the poorest countries, fund crucial action against climate change around the world and help avoid cuts to crucial public services in this country.”

So, what’s being advocated, in cleverly evasive language, is:

      1) Sending British money overseas to “poor” countries. Super. Aid has really worked a treat for the past 50 years, hasn’t it?

      2) “Crucial action” against climate change? What “action” will loads of money make possible against the weather?

      3) More money for unions.

    23. This is a shitty, deceptive advertisement.

    24. @69salford69 You don’t have to. Look up the world free man society, but it’s not for the faint hearted. Which most people are. Which is why we live in the world we do.

    25. @rev0107

      Thanks for the comment.

So if we’re forced to use a bank why isn’t there a bank OWNED and used by the people
